A sleeping dog escapes the heat of the Santiago summer by finding shade at the top of the busy subway stairs in the photo featured above. I still haven’t gotten used to the abrupt change of seasons when traveling between the US and Chile, but I’m glad to be back after a great time of visiting with family and friends that always seems too short. After the holiday break, we are back to work in El Oasis. This is the summer semester for the students but there is still plenty to do. Our planning for the mission trip to Bolivia is underway with only 3 weeks left before we head out.
The project to build at the Boy’s home has been put on hold due to the possibility of a construction company, buying the land and building a high-rise apartment complex. Although the construction of the art room has been put on hold, the camp for the boys is still a go.

Feliz año nuevo. I hope your 2013 is off to a great start.
